With its college town vibe, this city is home to the Cal State University of Northridge. Surrounded by beautiful scenery and a wide range of activities, Northridge is a gem located in the San Fernando Valley and is a hot spot for young adults and families. With plenty of shops, shopping areas and nature, Northridge has a population of just over 71,000 people. Nestled between Chatsworth, Porter Ranch, Granada Hills, and Reseda, Northridge is an amalgamation of urban living while being close to nature and surrounding countryside areas like the nearby Chatsworth Reservoir and Lake Balboa. Although Northridge is one of the lesser populated areas in Los Angeles, which gives it a unique suburban feel despite being a rather large city, it’s considered one of the most diverse. Being surrounded by freeways, Northridge is a short drive from areas like Hollywood and the rest of the San Fernando Valley. It’s also only few minutes away from the Bob Hope Airport. In addition to CSUN, Northridge is home to some of the best public and private schools in the region, making it a great place for families to grow. Northridge has the largest shopping mall in the area, the  Northridge Fashion Center and is also known for having one out of only two hospitals in the San Fernando Valley that is certified for treating life-threatening injuries. It even has some of the most beautiful attractions like the CSUN Botanical Gardens, the Donald E. Bianchi Planetarium and the Santa Susana Pass State Historic Park. Home to dozens of restaurants, mostly along Reseda Blvd, there are plenty of coffee places, cafes and little shops around the area. With the perk of being close to shopping places and restaurants while still being a relatively quiet neighborhood that’s close to nature, Northridge is a great mix of suburbia with a little bit of edge and a great community vibe.
